What is the standard WasteShark?

Where can I use this model?
It is best suited for:

What kind of waste does it collect?

How long does the battery last?
The standard model runs for approximately 5 hours on a single charge. This is sufficient for spot cleaning and maintenance of smaller water bodies.
How fast does it go?
It operates at a slow, steady walking pace. It uses smaller thrusters designed for energy efficiency in calm waters rather than speed.
How long does the battery last and how do I charge it?
The drone must be taken out of the water to charge. You will need to bring it to dry land to plug it in or swap the batteries. There is no in-water charging capability on this base model.
How do I transport it if I don't buy the optional trolley?
The drone weighs approximately 39 kg (86 lbs) unladen. Without the trolley, it requires a two-person lift to move it safely from a vehicle to the water’s edge. We highly recommend the optional trolley for single-person deployment to avoid back strain.
Does it have a camera?
Yes, it includes a standard camera that feeds video to the handheld remote. This allows you to see where you are steering, but it is not the High-Definition (HD) camera found on the Plus and Pro models.
Is it autonomous?
No. The standard WasteShark is 100% manually operated via a handheld remote controller. It does not have GPS waypoint planning or LiDAR.
What comes in the box?
The base price (€23,500) includes the Drone and the Remote Controller.
Note: The Transport Trolley, Floating Basket, and Retrieval Hook are optional add-ons for this model and are not included in the base price.
Can I upgrade it later?
No. You cannot retrofit the standard WasteShark with the faster thrusters, the HD camera, or the advanced remote capabilities of the Plus/Pro models. The internal hull design and electronics are different.
What if I need more power later?
While you cannot upgrade the hardware, we do offer a Trade-In Program. You can trade in your standard WasteShark unit for credit towards the purchase of a WasteShark Plus or WasteShark Plus Pro.
Can I customize the appearance for branding or visibility?
Absolutely. The WasteShark can be fully customized with vinyl wraps, decals, and flag mounts. Many clients use this for corporate branding, sponsor visibility (to generate revenue), high-visibility safety marking, or to showcase environmental initiatives. The large, flat surface area makes it an excellent floating billboard that’s constantly visible during operations, demonstrating your organization’s commitment to clean water and sustainability.
What are the weather and water conditions limits?
Because the standard WasteShark has smaller thrusters, it is strictly for calm waters.
Wave Height: Max 0.5m (1.5 ft).
Current Speed: Max 2 km/h (1.2 mph).
Wind Speed: Max 40 km/h (25 mph), though lower is better for battery efficiency.
Temperature: It can operate between -15°C and +50°C (5°F – 122°F).
How often do I need to clean the thrusters?
You should visually inspect the thrusters after every deployment.
While the thrusters have weed guards, fishing line and long hair can still get wrapped around the propeller shaft.
Maintenance Tip: Regular rinsing with fresh water is the only other major maintenance required, as the motors are electric and oil-free.
